The toning diet is not only suitable for those who want to lose weight, but also for those who want to keep their muscular structure tight and strong, which unfortunately tends to loosen over the years.

You should focus on a good protein intake and eating low-glycemic foods: by following this diet, you can only lose fat and keep your lean mass unchanged. So, even if you lose weight, your muscles remain firm and toned.

The first thing to remember is that you should eat little and often. Ideally, you should eat 5 to 6 meals a day, divided into: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and possibly small snacks before bed.

The toning diet requires a good protein intake, but only if it comes from lean sources like white meat and fish.

Fresh, low-fat dairy products or beans are also good sources of protein. These foods should be used in rotation to make the diet as rich and varied as possible.

In any case, protein intake should be correlated with the amount of physical activity performed: to maintain toned muscle shape, people who train a lot should consume more protein than those who train less.

Sugar and saturated fats are the real enemies of those who want to have good muscles: it is therefore necessary to limit the consumption of various sweets as much as possible, preferring monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats to saturated fats, they are healthier and suitable for supporting muscles. These types of fats are found in extra virgin olive oil and dried fruits.

Regular consumption of dried fruits is a real panacea, as they are rich in essential fatty acids, which can promote muscle growth and tone. Therefore, they should be consumed regularly, but not overused, as they are high in calories.
